Churros with chocolate sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

For the churros:
250 ml water
60 g butter
1 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
150 g wheat flour
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla extract
80 g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

For the sauce
:
120 g dark chocolate
120 ml cream

Preparation:

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Once the butter has melted, add the flour. Stir until the dough becomes thick, pulls away from the sides of the pan, and forms a ball. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Mix in the egg and vanilla until the dough is smooth.
  2. Place the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe strips approximately 8–10 cm long and place directly into the air fryer on baking paper. Cook at 190 °C for 8–10 minutes until golden.
  3. Mix the sugar with cinnamon and roll the hot churros in the mixture. Once the churros have cooled, the sugar will no longer stick.
  4. Heat the cream until hot (but not boiling), pour over the chocolate broken into pieces, and stir until fully melted.
  5. Serve the churros with chocolate sauce.
