Churros with chocolate sauce
Ingredients for 4 servings:
For the churros:
250 ml water
60 g butter
1 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
150 g wheat flour
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla extract
80 g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
For the sauce:
120 g dark chocolate
120 ml cream
Preparation:
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Once the butter has melted, add the flour. Stir until the dough becomes thick, pulls away from the sides of the pan, and forms a ball. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Mix in the egg and vanilla until the dough is smooth.
- Place the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe strips approximately 8–10 cm long and place directly into the air fryer on baking paper. Cook at 190 °C for 8–10 minutes until golden.
- Mix the sugar with cinnamon and roll the hot churros in the mixture. Once the churros have cooled, the sugar will no longer stick.
- Heat the cream until hot (but not boiling), pour over the chocolate broken into pieces, and stir until fully melted.
- Serve the churros with chocolate sauce.
