Goulash soup

Ingredients for 4 servings:

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion
1 carrot
1 celery stalk
4 cloves garlic
400 g beef
1 teaspoon paprika powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon flour
820 g canned tomatoes
3 tablespoon tomato paste
3 small potatoes
150 g brown lentils
1,2 litres of stock
pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Cut the onion, carrot, and celery into small pieces and chop the garlic.
  2. Pour the oil into a bowl, select the “frying” mode, and set the temperature to 160°C. Add the sliced vegetables and roast for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cut the beef into small cubes and add to the vegetables in the bowl. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned.
  4. Add the paprika powder and cumin to the bowl, stir, and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces.
  6. Add the flour to the meat and vegetables, mix well, then add the remaining ingredients – canned tomatoes, tomato paste, potatoes, lentils, and stock. Mix everything together.
  7. Select the “soup” setting, set the time for 2 hours, close the lid, and let the soup cook.
  8. When the soup is ready, season with salt to taste and serve with fresh herbs and sour cream.
